Pepco Selects Strategix to Implement Blue Yonder Category Management

Dusseldorf, 23.10.2024 – Pepco is a leading European chain of discount shops offering apparel for the entire family and household products at low prices. Pepco operates over stores in 18 countries. The brand was launched in 2004 in Poland and has become one of the most popular sellers of children’s clothing and an important supplier of decorative products. The brand continues to grow its presence in Europe.

Pepco is undergoing a significant transformation process. Providing its customers with a customer-centric assortment and proper visual merchandising in the stores is one of the strategic pillars. However, with the increasing data, disconnected systems and a strong expansion plan, this has become increasingly difficult.

Following a comprehensive examination of its processes and infrastructure, as well as an extensive selection process, Pepco has chosen to entrust Strategix with the implementation of the Blue Yonder Category Management solution. Among the decisive factors in favor of Strategix, in addition to their strong expertise in the area of Category Management software and consulting, is the AutoCAD Integration. Strategix developed a custom AutoCAD plug-in allowing Pepco to seamlessly synchronize AutoCAD drawings with Blue Yonder floorplans, proving crucial as Pepco thoroughly manages commercial planning for their over 2600 stores on the floor level.

This integrated approach empowers Pepco to optimize their assortment, strategically allocate category spaces, and tailor assortments to their store layouts. Furthermore, it facilitates the automatic initiation of store replenishment. The seamless planogram communication ensures consistency in layout, product availability, and, ultimately, customer satisfaction across all Pepco stores.

“The scale of Pepco’s business was one of the biggest challenges during implementation. We’ve expected smart and automated solutions and it was well delivered by Strategix” explains Dariusz Biela, Space and Range Planning Manager, Pepco Poland sp. z o. o.

“The Pepco implementation was quite challenging for us. On the one hand it was our first SaaS implementation of Blue Yonder Category Management; on the other hand, it is very difficult to implement such complex IT infrastructure into already successful operations of thousands of stores without creating risks to the ongoing business,” adds Jan Hanussek, Managing Partner, Strategix CFT GmbH.
